Platte, South Dakota is an attractive and peaceful community of 1,300 residents located a few miles east of the beautiful Lake Francis Case on the Missouri River. We have plenty of family-friendly entertainment, beautiful scenery, recreational opportunities, great hunting and fishing, and hometown hospitality.
The PDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable economic development in Platte. Our mission is to attract new businesses, support existing enterprises, and create opportunities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. Through initiatives such as workforce development, affordable housing development, and small business support programs, we aim to build a thriving, resilient economy that benefits every member of our community.

Our recent achievements include the successful completion of the Kuiper Development on the north side of town, significantly expanding residential capacity. We have also provided essential support for the Lake Platte Restoration Program, contributing to its ongoing restoration. Additionally, we have established a revolving loan fund to offer financial assistance to both new and existing businesses, fostering economic growth and stability.
